NFL Hall of Fame Randy Moss He revealed to fans in an Instagram Live on Friday that he had been diagnosed with cancer.

During the live broadcast, Moss said:cancer survivor,He added that he spent six days in the hospital and underwent surgery, and thanked his team of doctors and everyone who prayed for him.

“I'm a cancer survivor,” Moss said. “There were some tough times, but we made it through.”

Doctors discovered the cancer in the bile duct “between the pancreas and the liver,” Moss said.

“I never thought I would ever be in this position and as healthy as I thought I would be.”

Moss stepped away from his role as an analyst on ESPN's “Sunday NFL Countdown” on Dec. 6.

Moss said: “As soon as I recover and get back with the players, I will be on set. I hope to be with you guys soon.”

“My goal is to get back on TV with my team.”

It was revealed that Moss would step away from ESPN's “Sunday NFL Countdown” for an extended period to focus on a personal health challenge earlier in December in a statement from ESPN.

Moss addressed the issue briefly at the beginning of the show on December 1. “For nearly a decade, Randy has been an invaluable member of the team, constantly elevating Countdown with his insight and passion. “He has the full support of ESPN and we look forward to welcoming him back when he is ready.” An ESPN statement said.

Moss revealed last week that he was suffering from an illness.

“I just wanted to let the viewers know that my wife, my family and I are all battling something internally. I have some great doctors around me. I couldn't miss the show. I wanted to be here with you guys,” Moss said. During ESPN's “Sunday NFL Countdown” program last week.

“I feel good. But if you see me with my Michigan sunglasses on, it's not disrespectful because I'm watching TV. It's because I'm fighting something. I need all my prayer warriors. God bless you all. Thank you for the prayers.”

During FOX NFL Sunday, several former Moss-New England Patriots Teammates, including Tom Brady, shared their support for Moss.

“One of the best teammates and friends ever, in touch to this day,” Brady said during the FOX broadcast. “Obviously our thoughts are with you, our prayers, and all our positive energy. We love you so much, man.”

“We're thinking about you, Randy. We love you, man,” Rob Gronkowski added.

The 47-year-old Moss was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2018 after playing 14 seasons with the Minnesota Vikings (1998-2004, 2010), Oakland Raiders (2005-06), New England Patriots (2007-10) and Tennessee. Titans (2010) and San Francisco 49ers (2012).

Moss is second in NFL history with 156 touchdown catches and had an NFL-high 23 receptions in 2007 for the Patriots.
