An emergency plan has been put in place by the NFL as it continues to monitor the California wildfires ahead of Los Angeles Rams-Minnesota Vikings wild card game on Monday.

The Rams are scheduled to host the No. 4 seed Vikings #5 at SoFi Stadium, but with wildfires raging in the area, there's a good chance Inglewood Stadium won't be used.

The NFL issued a statement saying it plans to play Rams-Vikings as scheduled Monday night at SoFi Stadium. If the stadium cannot be used, the match will be moved to a different location.

“The NFL’s priority is the safety of the Los Angeles community,” the league’s statement began. “We are grateful for the tireless efforts of our first responders. Our thoughts are with Los Angeles and all those affected by the fires.

“We will continue to monitor developments in the area closely and will remain in contact with government officials, both clubs and the AFL.”

The association issued a statement earlier on Wednesday indicating that it was monitoring the situation.

The Rams had a scheduled off day on Wednesday, though Los Angeles Chargerswho share SoFi Stadium and head to Houston for their Wild Card game on Saturday, have limited players' time outside during practice because of poor air quality.

As of Wednesday afternoon, Inglewood's air quality index was 281, according to ESPN. Air is considered unhealthy at 150 or above.

At least 70,000 people have been ordered to evacuate as three major fires burn from the Pacific Coast to Pasadena. Officials say the number of evacuation orders continues to fluctuate as the fires burn.

The Rams announced on Wednesday that no players or employees were affected by the fires, but the team is closely monitoring the situation.

“Our thoughts are with those affected by the Eaton Fire in the Altadena/Pasadena area and the first responders protecting our community. Be safe,” Ramez said.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with everyone affected by the fires,” Cobb said. “Thank you to the firefighters, first responders and everyone else doing the best they can in unfathomable circumstances.”
