The film is directed by DJ Caruso, and stars Noah Cohen as Mary and Anthony Hopkins as King Herod. It reached number one on the Netflix charts shortly after its release on December 6.
But who is Mary – and why is she an important figure during Advent? Christmas seasons?

Mary's special status was made clear as early as the nineteenth century Gospel of Luke. We read in Luke 1:28: “Then he came to her and said: Hail, full of grace, the Lord is with you!”
