Tech billionaire and Trump ally Elon Musk More than 150 Democratic members of the House of Representatives who voted against deporting illegal immigrants convicted of sex crimes renewed criticism, calling for both lawmakers to be removed from office.
“There is no excuse. Please post a list of people who opposed this law and want to keep illegal immigrants convicted of sex crimes in America,” Musk posted on his X account on Saturday after a vote in the House of Representatives in September.
“They all need to be voted out of office. Every single one of them.”
The House passed the Violence Against Women by Illegal Aliens Act in September, after all 215 Republicans present voted in favor of the bill, which they were. They were joined by 51 of their Democratic colleagues. But 158 Democrats voted against the bill.
158 Democrats vote against a bill to deport illegal immigrants who commit sex crimes
Democrats who voted against the bill came under scrutiny last September, and are facing renewed criticism on social media this month, as commentators revive the vote before President-elect Donald Trump takes office this month.
“The bill targeted rapists, pedophiles, domestic abusers, and stalkers, ensuring they could not remain in the United States. Opponents claimed it 'demonized immigrants,' but how could protecting convicted criminals help anyone — especially their victims?” X show host Mario Novel posted on his account on Saturday, prompting Musk to weigh in.
“Deporting violent criminals is not 'fear-mongering' – it is basic public safety. Why would anyone vote to keep criminals who prey on women and children?” Nofal added.

The legislation would deport undocumented immigrants convicted of sex crimes, and would also deem undocumented immigrants who admit to — or are convicted of — domestic violence or sex-related charges inadmissible into the United States, Fox Digital previously reported. The legislation is currently before the Senate and has been referred to the Judiciary Committee.
Among the prominent Democrats who voted against the legislation were Rep. Jerry Nadler, D-N.Y., and former California Rep. Adam Schiff, who now serves in the Senate. Former Speaker of the House of Representatives Nancy Pelosi.
Musk's call to remove Democrats from Congress over the vote comes after he pledged in December to fund moderate Democratic politicians in deep blue districts, “so the country can get rid of those who don't represent them.”

Musk is also set to work alongside Vivek Ramaswamy to lead the upcoming presidential advisory committee, the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), which will work to cut excessive government spending and shrink the size of government under a second Trump administration.

Democrats who voted against the bill called it xenophobic and an example of “fear-mongering” against immigrants.
“Here we are again, debating another partisan bill that fears immigrant traffickers, instead of working together to reform the immigration system,” Pramila Jayapal, head of the Congressional Progressive Caucus, said during discussion of the bill.
