Mike Rinderco-host of the A&E show “Leah Remini: Scientology and the Aftermath,” died Sunday. He was 69 years old.
Mike's wife, Christy Colbran, co-hosted a Posted on Instagram Over the weekend to share the news. The family photo included their son Jack and Colbran's son Shane.
“Rest in peace my sweet and beautiful husband,” Colbran wrote. “I speak for many when I say that the grief and pain we feel reflects the depth of our unwavering love for you. Your courage, courage and integrity are unparalleled and will inspire us forever.”
She continued, “You were the pillar of stability in our lives, filling our days with your strength, wisdom, love, laughter, and dedication. The world will remember you. My best friend, my hero, my lover, Michael John Rinder.” “
Colbran went on to share “these final words are in accordance with Mike's wishes,” which were also posted in a file Final blog post Titled “Farewell”. The post was published on his website on Sunday.
“You have been the pillar of stability in our lives, filling our days with your strength, wisdom, love, laughter, and loyalty.”
Rinder said his website “has been a labor of love”, before adding: “I've been lucky – I've lived two lives in one. The second is the most wonderful years anyone could hope for with all of you and my new family!”
He continued, “My only real regret is not achieving what I said I wanted to achieve — ending Scientology's abuses, especially the breakup, and seeing Jack into adulthood. If you are in any way fighting to end these abuses, please keep the flag up.” – never give up.”

At the end of the post, Rinder wrote: “Let the flowers grow and look to the future… However, rest in peace.” His last words were a quote from Cicero: “The lives of the dead are placed in the memory of the living.”

Rinder's cause of death has not been determined, but in a blog post shared in June 2023, he announced that he had been diagnosed with advanced esophageal cancer. In October, Rinder announced that his “last scan showed no cancer” and that “the treatment was successful.”

Rinder was a member of Church of Scientology From the age of five, but left the church in 2007, per Biography for his website.
He has written a memoir, “A Billion Years: My Escape from Life in the Highest Ranks of Scientology,” as well as co-hosting his show and podcast with “Kings of Queens” actress Leah Remini.

to remember He shared an Instagram post over the holidays visiting Rinder's family. She shared a photo of herself hugging Mike as he lay in bed, writing: “I was so touched by the outpouring of love and care he showed Mike and his family.”

She wrote in her caption: “Christy Colbran is an angel. As she manages her family, has two children, and takes care of her husband, she displays strength and grace that is a wonder to behold.”
Remini reminded Rinder's sons: “Shane and Jack, you have been so amazing and strong for your father/stepfather. I know this has not been easy, and we are all so proud of you.”
“As many of you know, Mike has been bravely fighting cancer, and your messages of love truly lift his spirits. Please keep Mike, Christy, and their two boys in your prayers. Surround them with all the love and strength they deserve,” she concluded her post.
