The Duchess of Sussex said she was “devastated” after the death of her dog Jay.
In an Instagram post, Meghan said she had “cried too many tears to count” over the dog's death and thanked him for “many years of unconditional love.”
The Duchess said she adopted the beagle from an animal rescue organization in Canada in 2015, and that he has been “with me through everything” since then.
She did not mention when the dog died or the cause of his death.
The post was accompanied by a montage of photos and videos showing the Duchess and her family playing with Guy.
In one, she is seen boiling fruit on the stove to make jam and telling the dog: “We're jamming, Jay.” In another photo, her husband, the Duke of Sussex, appears running with him along the beach.

At the end, Meghan can be heard with one of the couple's children singing: “We love you man, yeah we love you.”
The Duchess said staff at the shelter where she adopted the dog “referred to him as ‘Little Man’ because he was so small and weak.”
“So I called him 'Guy'. He was the best guy any girl could hope for,” she said.
“He was with me at SOTS, when I got engaged, (and then married), when I became a mother….
“He was with me through everything: calm, chaos, calm, comfort.”
The Duchess added that Guy will appear in her upcoming Netflix series With Love, Meghan.
“I hope you understand why I'm so saddened by his loss. I think you might fall in love a little too,” she said.
“I've cried too many tears to count — the kind of tears that make you jump into the shower with the silly hope that the water running down your face will somehow make you not feel them, or pretend they're not there. But that's okay, too.
“Thank you for so many years of unconditional love, my dear friend. You have filled my life in ways you will never know.”
