Nearly 600 Americans traveled to France this summer to attend the conference Paris Olympics 2024 With one goal in mind: bringing home the gold.
The United States was represented by 592 athletes in 34 different sports, helping the Americans lead the medal count with a total of 126 medals. China was the next closest country with 91 medals. The United States also tied for first place with 40 gold medals.

Track and field
The Americans had the most success in track and field, winning a total of 34 medals, including 14 gold, 11 silver, and nine bronze. US track star Noah Lyles claimed his first Olympic gold medal after finishing first in the men's 100m final, while Vernon Norwood, Shamir Little, Bryce Dedmon and Kaylen Brown set world records in the 4x400m mixed relay.

USA Swimming leads the gold medal count in swimming with eight, ahead of Australia by one. Katie Ledecky continued her dominance in the pool, becoming the sixth Olympian to win nine gold medals. The USA team won 28 medals in swimming, including 13 silver and seven bronze.

Simone Biles She returned to the Olympics with a vengeance after her disastrous run in Tokyo. She made history in Paris by winning three gold medals to cement her legacy as one of the greatest gymnasts of all time. American Stephen Nedorosik also impressed the home crowd by taking the bronze medal in the men's pommel horse. The United States won nine medals, including three gold, one silver, and five bronze for Biles.
