Manchester United have received a major boost in their pursuit of Milos Kerkez, with Bournemouth reportedly close to signing left-back Julio Soler from Lanus.

According to Daily MailBournemouth are on the verge of securing a £12m deal for the 19-year-old Argentine full-back. Soler has agreed a four-and-a-half-year contract with the Cherries, with the move expected to be completed this week.

Soler, who made 50 appearances during his young career, has attracted interest for his talent and potential as a left-back. His arrival at Bournemouth could pave the way for Kerkes' departure.

The report claims Bournemouth have moved to sign the defender with growing interest in Kerkis from the likes of Manchester United and Liverpool.

Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim is keen to address the club's left-back woes, with Luke Shaw sidelined through injury and Tyrell Malcia recently returning from a long-term absence.

Diogo Dalot has filled in on the left during their absence and done well, but he feels more comfortable in his natural position on the right side.

Kerkez is a key target for Amorim, with the player impressing with his performances this season.

Transport expert Fabrizio Romano described Kerquez as “One to watch“, stating that the player recently switched agencies – often a sign of an impending move.

However, they face strong competition from Liverpool, who are said to have joined the race to sign the left-back given Andy Robertson's current poor form.

Club legend Jamie Carragher also urged the club to sign another left-back, and urged the club to sign Bournemouth's Milos Kirkes. Fan player Arnie SlotTo solve the left back problem.

With Bournemouth seemingly set to let Kerkes leave after securing a replacement in Soler, the stage is set for Manchester United and Liverpool to battle for his signature.
