Luke Skywalker accomplishes many amazing feats in Star Wars thanks to his mystical abilities, but his most impressive feat had nothing to do with the Force. We're talking, of course, about him being able to escape the second Death Star despite the fact that he was still crawling with stormtroopers who could have easily killed him while he was transporting Darth Vader's body to the shuttle's closest quarters. However, one fan theory may explain how Luke survived: Simply put, all the Imperials would have left Luke alive because they assumed he had just killed both Vader and Emperor Palpatine.

Luke Skywalker is terrifying

We as viewers know what happened near the end Return of the Jedi: After nearly giving in to his rage and destroying Darth Vader, Luke Skywalker drops his lightsaber and surrenders. In return, Palpatine begins striking the young Jedi with force lightning, only to be stopped Darth Vader Throw the boss down the shaft. Vader then died due to the lightning running through his body, but since none of the Imperials witnessed the throne room confrontation or Vader's deathbed redemption, they concluded that Luke Skywalker He is the most terrifying enemy in the galaxy.

Think about it: For the Imperials aboard the Death Star, Luke entered the throne room of Emperor Palpatine, their greatest boss and the most fearsome man they knew. The film begins by showing how the mere thought of Palpatine arriving on the space station reduced Moff Gergerud into a quivering mess of anxiety and fear. The Imperials saw Luke enter Palpatine's throne room in chains and emerge alive and free… The only reasonable conclusion is that he somehow managed to kill or overpower Palpatine, and no ordinary soldier would want to fight the man who successfully took over the Emperor.

At this point, skeptics will point out that not everyone aboard the Death Star was aware of Luke Skywalker's existence; It was actually a closely guarded secret. Therefore, very few Imperials would realize that the young warrior had done the impossible and escaped the clutches of the most powerful man in the galaxy. It will be from impossible To miss another key detail, though: Luke Skywalker dragging what appears to be Darth Vader's body.

Darth Vader's body

Palpatine was a very abstract threat to most Imperials, but Vader was quite concrete. This is a man who commands Star Destroyers and visits military bases, instantly killing even senior officers who bother him. He was the scourge of the entire Imperial service, the kind that anyone aboard the Death Star would be horrified to see. However, some little puppy comes dragging the Sith Lord's body into the shuttle bay as if he were simply taking a large garbage bag to the garbage compactor.

None of this is to diminish Luke Skywalker's abilities or his many accomplishments, but the lesson of the Star Wars prequels is that all it takes to kill even the most powerful Jedi is enough people firing blasters at once. Luke could have easily He could have been killed at any time on the Death Star, but he survived because everyone thought he had just killed the most powerful people in the galaxy. He's alive because of a simple misconception, though some might say that's just proof that the Force works in mysterious ways.
