Love is blind alum Kwame Appiah He overhauled his diet after being diagnosed with ulcerative colitis.
“In November (2024), I got a little sick. “I felt a little off, but I didn’t take it seriously — and the next thing you know, it’s been almost a month,” Appiah, 34, said on Thursday, January 17. Instagram video. “By the time I got to the doctor in December, I had been running a fever for about three weeks and had lost 20 pounds. Based on those symptoms, the doctors figured it could be due to a combination of things.”
While Appiah's doctors were initially concerned that he had cancer, it was eventually determined that he was a reality TV star Fight ulcerative colitis. According to the Mayo Clinic, ulcerative colitis is a type of inflammatory bowel disease that causes ulcers in part of the digestive tract.
In his Instagram comment, Appiah described his diagnosis as “very scary,” and detailed how he plans to manage his symptoms in the future.
“This experience changed the way I thought about it,” he wrote. “As someone who has never had health-related issues, I am now forced to change my diet and lifestyle to suit my health. I happily accept this responsibility, and encourage everyone to stay ahead, so as not to fall too far behind.
Appiah also learned many lessons from him Health scare.
“Quick reminder that life is incredibly precious,” the Netflix star said in his social media video. “I didn't realize how important the normal things I used to do in my day were to me until I couldn't do them anymore.”
Appiah continued: “Lesson No. 2: Small things can lead to big problems if we ignore them, so don’t do it. Lesson #3: Information is everything. “You have to know what it is, if you're going to fight it.”
By the time the video was uploaded, Appiah was on the mend.
“I'll end this with a lot of gratitude for the fact that I feel like myself again (and) for all the people who have sent love and support, and gratitude to them.” Chelsea (Griffin), “He helped me and was there for me all the way,” Appiah said, referring to his wife. “It's a new year, it's a new opportunity for us to stay healthy, so I wish you all health, wealth and success. Appiah met Griffin, 33, during their date Season 4 of Love is blind When Netflix pods arrived in Seattle. After navigating love triangles and an engagement invisibly, Appiah and Griffin married in the season finale.
Griffin also shared her support in the comments on Appiah's upload.
