According to Kylie, the couple went to see her parents for dinner on one of Jason's rare days off before the NFL season started, bringing their dog along for the trip. As the couple prepared to leave, Jason, now 37, was stalling.
“We go outside, get in the car, get ready to leave, and Jason turns around and says, 'I've got to get back inside,'” Kylie recalls. “And I said, 'Really?' This is the time you have to take as—? …Hurry up.”
Kylie waited in the car while Jason got back inside. “Unbeknownst to me, (he) was asking my father for permission to ask me to marry him,” she said. “So he came out in less than five minutes. I know my husband. That wasn't enough time to take him as —. So he got back in the car and I said straight to him: 'Go back there and finish your work.'
Kylie told Jason she refused to stop while they were going home, but he kept insisting he was fine. “The whole time, he's silent and fidgeting. He's like, 'I don't need to take it…'” she said.
The couple was still in the aisle when Jason finally popped the question. “He turns around and says, 'This isn't the most romantic way to do this, but I want you to get out of the truck,'” Kylie continued. “And as soon as he said 'romantic,' I immediately knew what was going on. Romance is not something this guy is well versed in.”
Kylie “immediately started crying” – and she doesn't remember much. “I blacked out. I have no idea what this man said to me. I'm pretty sure he asked me to marry him. I'm not 100% sure, but there was a ring and I wore it.
The proposal was made “right on my parents' front lawn” without any photo or video evidence of this accomplishment. “Honestly, he nailed that part,” Kylie added. “It was perfect.”
She went on to joke, “I felt a little guilty about the fact that it was a whole conversation about being considered — leading up to (it).”

He's fine.”
