Kylie Kelsey isn't ready to lose TikTok — just like the rest of us 608

Kylie Kelseyjust like us, isn't quite ready to give up on TikTok in light of a potential government ban.

“There's something that's been weighing heavily on me these past few days,” Kelsey, 32, said. Thursday, January 16th episode Her “won't lie” Podcast. “It looks like my favorite app, TikTok, might disappear forever. I hope it doesn't, and I can move on to the end of time. But, just in case I want to post one right for TikTok.

Congress passed the Protecting Americans from Foreign Adversaries Controlled Applications Act last year, which prohibits service providers from “distributing, maintaining, or updating” an application controlled by a foreign adversary. TikTok is owned by Chinese company ByteDance, and the US government has been wary of potential espionage. (ByteDance claimed the proposed ban was a violation of First Amendment protections regarding freedom of expression.)

The law was then taken to the Supreme Court, which has yet to issue a formal decision upholding the ban. If it is already accepted, you will need to remove TikTok from smartphone app stores by Sunday, January 19.

“I'm a little late to the TikTok game. “I joined sometime during the pandemic because I was tired of my friends sending TikToks and not being able to easily view them through the app,” Kylie, who is married to the retired NFL star Jason KelseyHe remembers. “Since then, almost three children later, I've spent countless hours after bedtime scrolling. … Now, I have to ask myself, 'What am I going to fill this time with?'

Kylie also wondered if she should replace her time on TikTok with reading…or watching Reels on Instagram.

“I will not return to Facebook. I refuse; this is an endless pit,” she joked. “Should we bring back Vine? I loved the 6 Seconds (and) it caters to the ADHD in me. Do I let my thoughts run wild? Absolutely not.”

According to Kylie, she will also have a new baby soon as a distraction. (She and Jason, 37, are expecting their fourth child in 2025.)

“But what should I do then while the newborn is eating?” Kylie added. “During this time of extreme uncertainty, I will try to remember the good times like when I first heard @AshleyKnock say, ‘Hey guys.’ It was a beautiful moment. Or when I first saw Jeremy Schick Follow me. His food has really helped my mom and I get through the pandemic.

Kylie also recalled her own posts, including those of her 5-year-old daughter, Wyatt He pointed out excitedly A.G. BrownPink cleats during a Philadelphia Eagles game and Other shots of Jason sleeping While Bennett gave birth.

Kylie concluded, saying: “Goodbye TikTok, and we hope to meet again on the other side of the sale.”
