Kelly Clarkson and Remy's Kids River both originated on a talk show

Kelly ClarksonRiver and Remy's two children were all grown up for their first interview on their mother's talk show.

“You all may remember that a few weeks ago I had my kids River and Remy on set. It's a nice bonus we get as a family when the show is taped on a Saturday,” the 42-year-old singer said on the Wednesday, January 8, episode of the show. The Kelly Clarkson Show. “Like their mother, my kids love to sing. And when Remy started getting ready, he surprised us. He wanted his chance in front of the microphone, and he literally said, 'Who do I have to talk to to sing my song?'” I said, OK, so of course, we made it happen.

Last month, 8-year-old Remy went viral after Clarkson shared a snippet of her son singing the classic song Frank Sinatra “My Way” tune. So Clarkson decided that they would show the full video of Remy's performance. In the clip, Remy took the stage and sang from his heart. As he sang the power ballad, Clarkson and River, 10, cheered him on from the wings. After finishing the song, Remy received a warm applause from the audience. Clarkson ran to him to hug her son tightly.

After the performance, Clarkson had a special treat for the audience as did Remy and River Back in the studio.

“I'm so stoked that my kids are here again. Let's get them all out,” Clarkson told the crowd. “Everyone say hi to River and Remy!”

River and Remy came out and hugged their mother before sitting on the couch. All siblings were made for them Big TV appearance. River rocked a black and white top with straight hair and bangs — similar to her mother's famous look. For his part, Remy looked dashing wearing a green striped jacket.

“Oh my God, look at you. “You got your makeup on and your hair is almost done,” Clarkson gushed. “This is not how we look at home.”

Clarkson then asked her son why he wanted to perform that particular song. Remy explained that he really liked it, especially after he watched it Singing 2. Clarkson joked that she and River used to hear “My Way” a lot at home.

“I can't even count…how many times,” River quipped about the number of times her brother had belted out “My Way.”

Clarkson shared that she and River hear Remy practicing the song a lot as he prepares to sing it at a couple of his school events. This was one of the main reasons why he wanted to try singing in front of a live audience. Kelly also shared Remy's reaction after a snippet of the song went viral.

“I said, 'Dude, you've got over a million views, I think, on your video,'” she recalled. “And he says, 'Are you getting this many views?' I was like, “Calm down – not too often.”

Just like Remy, Clarkson noted that she can always hear her daughter, the “Queen of Country,” in her room practicing music. The American Idol winner turned it over to River to share what she loves doing musically. Just like her mother, she enjoys singing and writing music.

“I compiled it in a journal that I forgot at home because I'm forgetful in my family,” River admitted. “But I do it a lot in my room, spending hours and hours and hours singing (and) trying to write a song.”

Clarkson proudly shared that River's songs are “good.”

Clarkson partners with both River and Remy Ex-husband Brandon Blackstock. The pair split In 2020 after nearly seven years of marriage.
