Justin Thomas returns to action for the first time in 2025. After an off-season in 2024, Thomas is looking to start the new PGA Tour season on the right foot. Perhaps he will do so by holding a unique training session ahead of Sentry this weekend.

Thomas hosted a junior golf clinic during his training outing in Maui before tee time for the first round today. Many young golfers came to watch the PGA star and learn from him during his training tour.

The kids take turns asking him questions, like whether or not he can swing like Happy Gilmore or whether he's ever stepped across Europe in celebration of a made shot. He also invited some children to compete with him in competitions while he was practicing sports.

He then said:

“I really feel like I haven't been where they are in a long time, even forever, so if a couple of these kids from here can become the future of golf and play in the LPGA or PGA, that's pretty cool down the road one day.”

The publication starring Sentry referred to them as “local kiki.” Kiki is a term for a young orchid plant that grows asexually from a mature orchid flower stalk or pseudobulb. It is used colloquially to refer to children in Hawaii.

At the time of writing, Thomas has not yet started playing at Sentry, while two other golfers, such as Tom Hogue and Harry Hole, went through the first few holes to open the 2025 season.

Justin Thomas is excited for 2025 after rejecting the Presidents Trophy

Justin Thomas was a standout star for Team USA in both… Ryder Cup And the Presidents Trophy, he wasn't part of the 2024 Presidents Trophy team. That snub has him excited to play with a little chip on his shoulder this year.

In conversation with The athleteHe said:

“I haven't had the opportunity to play angry for a while, so I'm very excited to play a little angry this year.”

He understood and made the decision so well that he was able to joke with Captain Jim Furyk about it. He texted Furyk several times to joke with him about his decisions for the team.

Justin Thomas posted frequently about it as well, adding that he felt like he had the connection with Furyk to do so.

He added: “I'm happy they won, and I was pulling them like crazy, but fortunately we're close enough where I feel like I can do it and he won't get so angry.”

The American and international teams traded unbeaten days before the United States put together a brilliant closing run to secure the win.
