I'm a big fan of Jose Mourinho. He's been a fantastic manager over the years, one of the all-time greats, but I don't see how this Everton job is going to work.
Everton are in a huge and widespread relegation battle. I think it's out of them and Ipswich to go down. Mourinho needs to be higher up in the league instead of fifth from bottom.
I don't see how Mourinho does differently than Sean Dyche. I don't see any difference in that. He's a huge name in football but I'd be careful with that name.
They don't score a lot of goals, but it looks like Mourinho is not coming and they will play smoothly.
He had the best Chelsea team ever and the team was not free flowing. Winning 1-0, 2-0 every week, and never conceding a goal, but Dyche doesn't let in many goals either. It's strange to me. I think the owners want a huge name in football.
If Dyche is sacked tomorrow morning, and any job comes up in the bottom three or four in the league, he will get it because if anyone is going to get you out of trouble, it's Dyche.
If you're going to bring someone in to replace Daichi, you have to bring in someone with thick skin, like Mourinho. You have to bring in someone who will do it their way but there aren't many of them.
I have a lot of respect for Dyche because he does it his way and doesn't listen to the audience or think he has to act hot. “This is my team and we will be hard to beat,” he says.
They played three of the biggest teams in the country in Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester City and drew three matches. But in the next minute, they lost at home to Nottingham Forest and then Bournemouth. Instead of being three unbeaten, it's four and five unbeaten.
