John Stamos He thinks about the people who mean a lot to him as one year ends and another begins.
the Full house Star, 61, shared an emotional post via His Instagram on Wednesday, January 1 as he reflects on “love, loss and growth.”
“a happy new year!” He began the lengthy caption of the post. “As the calendar turns, I find myself reflecting on a year filled with love, loss, and growth. This past year has been one of the most transformative years of my life. I have experienced moments of immense gratitude, profound sadness, and the kind of clarity that only comes when you let life happen as it should.” truly.
The caption was accompanied by a photo of Stamos with his wife Caitlin McHugh38, whom he married in 2018and their son Billy, 6 years old.
Nope Caitlin Billy was the first to be name-verified in the reflective Instagram post.
“To Caitlin and Billy, you are my heart. Every morning we spent cuddling and laughing together is a memory I will hold close to forever,” Stamos wrote. “You remind me daily that the simplest moments are often the most meaningful.”
Stamos also referenced his book Full house costar, Dave Collier, and His ongoing battle with cancerAnd tag it in the comment and in the photo itself.
“@dcoulier you got this!” Written by Stamos, who played Uncle Jesse alongside Collier's Uncle Joey on the popular 1990s sitcom.
Collier, 65, was diagnosed with stage III non-Hodgkin lymphoma in October. Non-Hodgkin's lymphoma is a form of cancer that fights the body's lymphatic system and affects “white blood cells called lymphocytes (which) grow abnormally and can form growths (tumors) throughout the body,” according to the Mayo Clinic.
The actor also touched on the loss of a childhood friend Mike Owenwho has been Stamos' best friend since they were 11 years old. Owen died in November of a heart attack.
“To Mike, my oldest and dearest friend, whom we lost this year – you will forever be the silent Obi-Wan, guiding me with your quiet strength. Losing you has left a hole in my life, but I carry your light forward in everything I do,” Stamos wrote.
Stamos went on to celebrate his accomplishments of sobriety in 2024 and expressed that he is looking forward to the future.
“This year, I celebrated my sobriety again, and that's something I'm incredibly proud of. This year has been a fresh start for me, and I'm so grateful for the second chance life gives you when you choose to show up for it.” I'm excited for what's to come – Projects New things, new stories to tell, new ways to create and communicate. But for now, I'm sticking to stillness, laughter, and loving these moments with my family.
