Former US President Jimmy Carter, winner of the Nobel Peace Prize, has died at the age of 100.
He was honored for his philanthropic work at the self-named Carter Center, and every living president has now issued a statement about his or her career.
In a series of interviews with the BBC throughout his life, Carter has spoken about how he envisioned his legacy, telling the BBC's Andrew Marr in 2011 that it was defined by a “commitment to peace.”
