But there were times when the paychecks you would make from these off-Broadway shows weren't as good as unemployment,” he explained, adding: “I really had to think, like: Do I want to eat? Or do I want to develop my artistic self and take these wonderful parts? And there were times when I was very nervous about it.
He pointed out that “getting a job actually means reducing my salary because my unemployment was greater.”
