The Real Housewives of New Jersey star Jennifer Aydin She's clarifying her recent social media beef with Jersey Mike's.
“In hindsight, it was 20/20, but I didn’t think it would turn out like this,” Aydin, 47, said exclusively. Us Weekly On Wednesday, January 8th.
Earlier this month, Aydin He claimed in a video on social media She waited “what felt like forever” to receive service from Jersey Mike's Airport. An employee then shared her response in a TikTok video, referring to Aydin as a “stupid bitch” and claiming the reality TV star supports the entire line of customers.
While talking to weAydin stressed that she “was not rude” to any of the food chain's employees.
Jennifer and her husband, Bill AydinHe was travelling With their five children For holidays.
“We're a big group. I'm a family of seven,” Jennifer recalls. “I have a sister with my daughter. She's a widow (and) she and my daughter come with us wherever we go. So, we travel (with) nine people or a lot of people. We met up with my cousin, another family of six. …There are 15 of us, not to mention the two other families who were meeting us at the airport.
After Jennifer and Bill, 51, herded their crew through TSA security, they decided to split up in order to quickly get food for their kids before boarding the four-hour flight.
“He took all the kids, went to another booth with a table, and ordered food. It was about 5:30 a.m.,” she said. “Jersey Mike's didn't open until 5:30, and my cousin and I got on the line at about 5:45 AM and there weren't many people on the line. Again, moving was a little slow, but we didn't want to complain.
Jennifer and her cousin, SusieI stood in line at the same time, but Susie eventually got out to check out a nearby booth.
“She didn't get back in line with me because it was already starting to pile up. So she decided to wait for me at the register until it was my turn,” Jennifer said. we. “When it was my turn, obviously I let her go in front of me and I think people thought I was letting her cut. I didn't let her cut and she ordered four sandwiches. She only ordered one. I only had one that my kids wanted to split. That was my job. I'm in mommy mode.” And I'm just trying to get my kids food.
After Susie ordered, Jennifer and the woman behind her gave their orders as well. The other woman allegedly got help before Jennifer, despite the Bravo personality saying she got to the line first.
“We've already been waiting. We're at the airport, we have a flight to catch. We've already gone through TSA, and I'm a big group, and everything took (time), so obviously tensions are high. “Again, I don't want to complain. I get it. Everyone's like, “It's New Year's, whatever.” They fulfilled the woman behind me's sandwich (order) first, and I reminded the employee. I'm like, “Hey, did you learn my Italian?” She would say: “You have to wait your turn.” I said: Oh, but you did it before me and you were before her. So, she obviously realized that (and) she ignored me. I didn't want to make a big thing about it.
While the staff was working on preparing Jennifer's sandwich, Bill arrived to add an order.
“They're working on one sandwich I ordered. It's a foot-long Italian fish and Bill said one of our kids wants a little tuna without anything,” Jennifer said. “So I said to the clerk, 'Okay, honey, I'm going to need another little tuna.' “And you say, 'Oh no, you have to get to the back of the line.' And I said, 'But you just made that woman's sandwich in front of me and I didn't say anything and none of that was on camera – by the way.' So I looked Up and I think she realized I was right and said, “Well, the guy behind you has to say yes.”
Jennifer didn't notice the man who was now waiting behind her, who apparently said, “I mean, it's ridiculous…she (was) adding another sandwich.”
“Tensions are high. I know I'm going to get blamed for something and I'm going to keep my cool,” Jennifer stressed. “The whole point of recording — and I know it backfired — was to show that I didn’t take the pictures. I'm just recording the window. “At that point, the guy wasn’t even in my field.”
The man then claimed to be a law professor He allegedly threatened to sue Jennifer about “all the fake diamonds” if she posts a video of it.
Jennifer said, “I was extremely shocked and disgusted by this man's behavior,” noting that she was “irritated by bad behavior.”
She continued: “I realize I didn't handle this properly, but in that moment, I was completely shocked and horrified by this really unprovoked aggressive behavior. Then I put the camera on him.
She added, “In my anxiety, I was telling him because I wanted him to know that you can't be rude to people like that. You don't know who you're being rude to and I'm going to blow you up. … I was angry that this person (was) talking to me like that. I want you.” “You know that right now, I wasn't rude to the Jersey Mike's staff at all. I was trying to be polite.”
A Jersey Mike's employee then allegedly threatened to not complete Jennifer's order that was currently in progress.
“In the video, they were still working on my sandwich. It's not like I paid. I didn't check,” she said. “So, when they would ask me to wait until the end of the line or ask this guy for permission, that was already the start of a fight. They shouldn't do that and this is just customer service. I realize now that I can't say: “I'm a celebrity.” People are very angry. …I'm not going to say anymore that I'm a celebrity because people are so angry about that. “But obviously this wouldn’t have spread as widely as it did if I hadn’t been a public figure.”
Jennifer also apologized for her scathing remarks about the staff, noting that she “wasn't a celebrity at that moment” but simply an “angry mother.”
“I wanted to put it on blast to show how rude they were to me. I didn't do it the right way. I admit it, but I wasn't rude to the staff at that moment,” Jennifer repeated, noting that she only announced her celebrity status after someone recognized her. “I feel like we've all been there,” the diners pointed out loudly. I'm learning now that I have to realize that I am a public figure and everything I say or do will be scrutinized and I have to lead by example.
She continued: “It was wrong for me to speak up in my stories and then attack bad customer service. I'm learning now that I'm not allowed to complain. Not entitled. This is not a privilege. I'm a paying customer.”
Jennifer also “one hundred percent” regrets posting the risqué video in the first place.
“I realized I should have done it differently and it could have gone a little differently,” she said. “And I'm learning now not to do things in the heat of the moment, because I wasn't angry like a celebrity. … I was a paying customer who didn't get the sandwich for her child.”
Additionally, Jennifer felt “she deserved an apology” from Jersey Mike's and the allegedly “rude and insulting” man behind it, but she doesn't plan to reach out.
She said: “I won't do it, they're constantly attacking me. … I'll apologize for naming (the worker) an 80-year-old lady who did all that, but that's where it ends. They're making money from this, and I'm very happy with it. In the end “Some good will come to them from this.”
