India star Jasprit Bumrah He was named Player of the Series for the 2024-25 Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT), making history as the first Indian player to achieve the feat in three SENA nations. Meanwhile, Australia secured the series 3-1, sealing the win with a dominant six-wicket win in Sydney.

Bumrah was absent during the fourth innings of the fifth Test against Australia due to a back spasm. Despite this, he was the standout performer of the series, finishing with 32 wickets in nine innings, an impressive average of 13.06, and three five-wicket hauls.

The 31-year-old also created history by surpassing 47-year-old Bishan Singh Bedi's record of the most wickets taken by an Indian bowler in an away Test series.

His outstanding performance earned him the well-deserved Player of the Series award, making him the only Indian cricketer to achieve the feat against three nations in the Sena.

Bumrah received the prestigious honor during India's 2022-23 tour of England, where he took 23 wickets in five matches. He also won the award during the 2023-24 tour of India South AfricaHaving taken 12 wickets in two matches.
