Manchester United have been struggling to perform this season, and even a change in management has not been able to turn around their fortunes.
They sacked Erik ten Hag this season and appointed Ruben Amorim, one of the best young coaches in the game at the moment.
However, they are still struggling to achieve results and their performance has been very disappointing.
They lost five games in December, the most defeats in a single month for them since 1962, which shows the problem they have now.
The arrival of Ineos to the club, now also responsible for operations at Old Trafford, was expected to bring luck and professionalism to Manchester United, but in reality it did the opposite.
Football expert Jamie Carragher has criticized the club's hierarchy for some of the decisions they have made in the last few months.
Carragher was particularly critical of the summer spending spree under Ten Hag last year when the club allowed the manager to spend money heavily without thinking about the consequences.
“United may have found the right man for the job and appointed him at the worst time.” Carragher said in his column for: Telegraph.
“The club hierarchy has a lot to answer for.
“Setting the main target as quickly as possible is understandable. What is difficult to explain is: How can you give a £200m budget to a weak coach who plays 4-2-3-1 four months before you sign a coach who plays with three central defenders and a wing-back? ?
“Manchester United executives in charge of football operations are the architects of this mess, not Amorim. Manager Jason Wilcox said when he took the job that he wanted to replicate the same system at every level of the club.
“How does it work when you back a manager with such a completely different system to the one you just sacked? The United hierarchy knew the risks of asking Amorim to take over immediately because it is clear that the current team is not prepared to play his way.
Jamie Carragher is right in his assessment of Manchester United
The Red Devils have been one of the worst clubs in world football in recent years.
They have all the resources to become the biggest club in England, but their decision-making process has been surprisingly poor.
Clubs like Manchester City, Liverpool and Arsenal are miles ahead of Manchester United when it comes to recruitment, transfer strategy and playing style.
Manchester United signed players without a plan, offered them high wages and longer contracts, and now they are suffering because of it.
Amorim could be the man who can change all that, but he needs the support of club bosses.
