Ange Postecoglou admits Tottenham's recent form “hurts a lot” but believes the team can turn things around.

Tottenham conceded a late equalizer as they drew 2-2 with Wolves in the Premier League on Sunday – a result meaning Postecoglou's side have won just two of their last ten matches in all competitions.

Tottenham remain in the bottom half of the table, two points behind 10th-placed Brighton, but Postecoglou's side have been devastated by injuries in recent weeks.

Destiny Udogie became the latest to limp off with a strike, thus becoming Spurs' ninth unavailable player.

“It hurts me because I am responsible,” Postecoglou told Sky Sports.

“When I see how hard the players are trying, it hurts even more. I wanted them to get rewards for their efforts. It hurts badly. It's my responsibility where we are now.

“I will continue. We have work to do to get some help with these players. Our role is to help them give their best.

“I can see how hard they were trying. If we had been at our best, we would have scored the third and fourth goals, and been inches away.”

Expressing his frustration with the current injury list, the Tottenham coach added: “We lack the dynamic movement we need.

“Where does Dicky (Kulusevski) get the energy from? Dom (Solanke), Sonny (Son Heung-min). These guys fight energy and are not as smart as we can be.

“We're getting on well and we're not having a smooth run on anything in terms of players coming back to allow us to revitalize the team. When we get one back, we lose one.

“At some point, we will get a healthy team and we will be able to perform at a high level. We have shown that we can beat anyone.

“There is always an opportunity to run. This is secondary to having support for the players physically, mentally and in terms of numbers.

Tottenham's next match will be when they host Newcastle in their first match of 2025 on January 4.
