Israeli Prime Minister The Benjamin Netanyahu office announced on Sunday that an agreement was reached with Hamas to issue additional hostages starting on Thursday, while allowing the Palestinians to return to the northern part of the Gaza Strip, which begins on Monday morning.
Qatar helped mediate the agreement, which is expected to reduce the first main crisis for the fragile shooting between Hamas and Israel.
“After firm and firm negotiations headed by Prime Minister Netanyahu, Hamas has declined and will hold an additional stage of hostages next Thursday,” Netanyahu office He said. “As part of this stage, the Israeli citizen will be launched, the soldier, the soldier, Ajam Berger, and one additional hostage.”
The statement also indicated that three additional hostages will be issued on Saturday as part of the agreement.
Israel confirmed that Hamas handed over a list determining the hostage condition expected to be issued in the first stage. Local media also reported the specific list of living and dead, although the names were not included.
Israeli officials claim that most of the 26 hostages are alive, which coincides with the Hamas list that it presented.
Netanyahu's office also said that Israel will allow the Palestinians to return to the northern part of the Gaza Strip, which begins on Monday morning, according to the agreement with Hamas.
