IBF World Cruiser Champion Jay Opetaia knocked out David Nica in four rounds on Wednesday night at the Gold Coast Convention Centre, Broadbeach, Queensland, Australia.

In the main event, Obitaya, 27-0 (21), stopped “Nice Guy” Nikka, 10-1 (9) at 2:17 of the fourth of a scheduled 12-rounder.

In the second round, both fighters were successful, with both scoring well in the final seconds. In the third round, Obitaya scored good goals and easily won the round.

In the fourth round, at the halfway point, Opetaia landed a powerful uppercut followed by Nyika being dropped for an eight count by referee David Fields. Opetia jumped on Nyika and landed a hard left to the chin, then went down face first into the canvas where referee David Fields counted Nyika out. It was Nika on the canvas. It took a while for Nika to get back on his feet.

WBO Global and IBF Pan Pacific heavyweight champion Justis 'JPH' Honey, 12-0 (7), stopped Sean 'Gods Warrior' Potgieter, 10-2 (7) at 0:33 of the second of a scheduled 10-rounder.

In the first round, Honey pounded Potgieter, who was barely able to stay upright. In the second round, Honey pounded on Potgieter until referee Phil Austin stopped.

Max McIntyre, 7-0 (6), stopped Abdul Salam Samam, 8-2 (1), in the fourth round of the vacant IBF junior middleweight title.

In the fourth round, McIntyre scored three knockdowns, forcing the bout to be stopped.

Ben Mahoney, 15-0-1(8), defeated Fan Zhang, 8-3-1(5) over 10 rounds for the vacant IBF Pan Pacific super middleweight title.

Heavyweight Teremoana Jr., 6-0(6), #266.8, of Brisbane, Australia, knocked out Osaso Otobo, 11-2-1(5), #284.8, of Wiesbaden, Hesse, Germany, in the scheduled first round. Six rounds.

Teremoana landed straight on the chin in the first round and downed Otobo for the count.

Lightweight Tayla Jentzen, 6-1 (3), lost a split decision to southpaw Shauna Brown, 5-0 (3) over 10 x 2 rounds.

Featherweight Tony Ingram, 6-1 (3), lost to Runqi FIST-OF-FURY' Zhou, 9-2-1 (3) over six rounds.

Referee Philip Holiday. Scores 78-74 twice and 77-75.

Lt. heavyweight Bill McAllister, 3-0(3), #173.8, of Brisbane, Australia, stopped Jordan Townes, 2-3(1), #174.8, of Gold Coast, Australia, in the second of four scheduled rounds.

In the second round, Towne's corner threw in the towel.

Welter Cody Shalali, 1-1-1, tied with southpaw Albert “Baby Youd” Tolua, 1-1-1, over four boring rounds.
