(NYSE:) today made the world premiere of the BF300 large-sized outboard motor at the Düsseldorf Boat Show 2025 (Düsseldorf Boat Show 2025), held in Düsseldorf, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. , from January 18 to 26, 2025. The BF300 will go on sale sequentially in the regions of Japan, Europe and Asia before the end of 2025.
Using a 4,952 cc (302 in3) V8 engine developed for the BF350, the flagship model of Honda's outboard that went on sale in February 2024, the BF300 delivers powerful propulsion with a maximum output of 300 hp. In addition to demonstrating the high performance and seaworthiness achieved through abundant torque, the BF300 was designed to run on regular gasoline despite its high output. In recent years, marine recreational activities using a large boat have become increasingly popular, especially in North America and Europe. Against this backdrop, after introducing the BF350, Honda introduces the BF300, another high-performance outboard motor, to meet the needs of more customers.
The BF300 is equipped with enhanced support features to ensure a smoother and more comfortable riding experience for customers, including new functions that debuted with the BF350, such as the cruise control function, which makes it possible to cruise at a set boat speed or engine speed (rpm), as well as To the cutting support function, which automatically adjusts the cutting angle (1) to maintain one of the preset patterns. The BF300 also features an auto tilt function to tilt the entire outboard motor up/down automatically (2), which greatly increases the convenience of docking and/or storing the outboard motor. Moreover, a new structure is adopted for the engine cover and oil filter, respectively, to facilitate installation and detachment to reduce the maintenance burden on the customer.
By updating the functionality of the base model's ECU, the BF350, the BF300 features greater operating comfort. Specifically, when using three outboard motors together, a neutral control function can be added to the center-positioned outboard motor drive to instantly steer the board more stably. In conjunction with the market launch of the BF300, this function is also scheduled to be installed on the BF350.
As for the design, while the BF350 inherits the “Noble Motion Form” design concept, the BF300 features high-rigidity parts composition and high-quality form. Its slim and slim design is adaptable to various body shapes and usage environments.
