Eddie Hearn said Devin Haney wants to get paid well for his tune-up fight and not the kind of money these types of matches usually pay. He feels that BLK Prime might have been willing to pay Haney (31-0, 15 KOs) the money he wanted.

According to Hearn, Devin still wants the money to be paid for the compelling fights that fans want to see. This is unrealistic for a fight Gimme Tune-Up is designed to remove rust, show off against a fodder opponent, and increase his confidence.

Hearn says that Turki Al-Sheikh wants big fights, and this is not in line with the adjustment Hani needs to prepare for his rematch with Ryan Garcia. If Devin faces a good opponent on a Turk card, there's a good chance you'll lose if he's a middle-of-the-road decent guy with little punch in his punches.

Turki Hani probably won't give an easy job like Jorge Kambosos Jr., Regis Prograis, or Jorge Linares. He wants real quality like Jaron Ennis, Richardson Hitchens, Imantas Stanionis or Brian Norman Jr. All of these fighters could potentially defeat Haney with their style.

Hearn said Boxing scene That Hani was not the type of person who was willing to accept between $500,000 and $1 million for the seizure. he “He wanted to get paid well.” For a fight that usually does not value this type of dough.

“For the amount of money he wants to put into a comeback fight, it's not easy, because a comeback fight in general is not a great fight. Who would pay for it? If you could find someone who would pay big money for a comeback fight, that would probably be BLK Prime.

This indicates that Haney still considers himself a big name or champion despite losing to Ryan Garcia in three knockouts and a 12-round majority decision loss on April 20 last year. The New York State Athletic Commission later overturned the defeat due to Ryan testing positive for the banned PED Ostarine, but fans still considered it a loss.

Haney didn't even remotely resemble a champion or top-10 fighter against Garcia, and certainly not a guy who deserves to be “paid well” for making adjustments.

It will be interesting to see who Devin fights on BLK Prime on March 25. Will they let him fight the can of tomatoes and pay him big, or will they insist on value for their money? If so, Haney will likely lose and ruin his chances of a rematch with Garcia unless he is willing to fight him after the defeat. I wouldn't put it past Kingry to do this because he doesn't seem interested in fighting risky battles either.

“I came back in March,” Devin Haney said on X. Then BLK responded, saying, “See you March 25 on BLK Prime.”
