There is not much time left in the winter transfer window for Graham Potter and the West Ham board to implement any transfer, but one of the deals that has been made involves a left winger with 99 goals or assists.

Barcelona's Ansu Fati is ready to move to West Hamand Ben Chilwell could join the Irons Before the deadline to prepare for a reunion with the former Chelsea manager.

However, there is one player who will not wear the red and blue for the remainder of the 2024/25 season, and that is Maxwell Cornet.

Graham Potter will not be able to call on Maxwell Cornet

According to reliable journalist, Fabrizio Romano, the Hammers have agreed a deal with Genoa for the Serie A side to take the Ivorian on loan.

Although he appears to have had 99 overall contributions in his career total of 350 appearances so far (Transfer market), managed just one Premier League goal and six assists in all competitions in his 38 appearances for the Hammers.

Genoa offers Cornet a lifeline; Graham Potter continues to develop West Ham

Genoa coach Patrick Vieira clearly sees something in the left wing that he can work with, and if Cornet performs well, it is entirely possible that something more permanent could result.

A critic accuses the West Ham star of unacceptable behavior!

What the move does is take the player off the Hammers' wage bill and away from the first-team squad which he has no realistic chance of getting into.

He was loaned out to bottom club Southampton at the start of the current season, and has not even managed to make an impression there.

Transfermarkt show that he made just four appearances which totaled 187 minutes.

The player will clearly be grateful for the new opportunity, while West Ham need not worry about what happens next – Cornet has a contract with them until 2027 – for the next six months.
