Germany is in mourning after a car plowed into crowds at a Christmas market in the city of Magdeburg, killing five people and injuring more than 200 others.
As the BBC's Europe correspondent Bethany Bell reports, this is not the first time Germany has dealt with a vehicle attack at a Christmas market.
While the government has promised an investigation, many Germans wonder how such an incident could happen again.
