The Tiger Woods will be transferred to Torrey Pines after forest fires in Los Angeles.
The Riviera County Club was scheduled to host the PGA tour event from February 13 to 16, but this tournament in the Pacific Palssadis region in southern California was destroyed by the disaster.
Instead, the championship will move to San Diego before the expected return to Riviera in 2026.
Torrey Pines is already a regular place in the PGA tour, hosting the Farmers Insurance Open, while also hosted the United States Open in 2008 and 2021, which Woods and John Ram won, respectively.
“We are grateful to the city of San Diego and Tori Pines to host the Genesis Invational Championship for 2025, and everyone who communicates to support the tournament,” Woods said.
“While Riviera remains home to The Genesis Invitationalism, we look forward to playing at another star of the tournament this year and using the championship to support the fires affected in the Los Angeles region.”
“As we have seen in the past two weeks, sport can be a major conversion, but it is greater unification in gathering people together for a common issue,” added PGA Commissioner,
“The highlight of the flexibility of Los Angeles and the need for constant support for continuous recovery efforts is what our collective teams are working by playing The Genesis Invitationalism in Torrey Pines.”
This year, Genesis Invitationalism will include a number of relief initiatives related to Los Angeles, and the details will be published in time.
