President-elect Donald Trump's choice Pete Hegseth, who leads the Defense Department, faced questioning in the Senate on Tuesday, as lawmakers determine whether to vote for the nominee.

Hegseth faced intense questioning from Democrats at the Armed Services Committee hearing, including his past comments regarding women serving in military combat roles, and was also interrupted by protesters who disrupted the hearing at some points.

Trump nominated Hegseth in November, just days after his decisive election victory over Vice President Harris, and praised him as a “fighter for troops and for country.”Read more
