U.Today – Chinese cryptocurrency journalist and blogger Colin Wu is spreading the word about the positive Bitcoin-related changes happening in Thailand right now.

Moreover, the country's former Prices Minister, Thaksin Shinawatra, made a very bullish forecast on prices.

Shinawatra believes Bitcoin will reach $850,000

Colin Wu shared a link to an article about Thaksin Shinawatra, who is not only the former Prime Minister of Thailand but whose son currently holds the position. In Bear Wu's tweet, Shinawatra said that his friends expect Bitcoin to rise to $850,000 in the future.

He also believes that it is important to raise awareness of Bitcoin among the population. Therefore, an order has been issued to create a sandbox allowing the use of BTC for payments in Phuket.

This initiative came after the results of the recent presidential elections in the United States and the expected shift in cryptocurrency policies in the country in the near future. Some politicians in Thailand believe that the United States may use Bitcoin to pay off all or part of its national debt to creditors.

Moreover, Thailand may begin to conduct in-depth research and study of stablecoins. The goal is to see if it is possible to invest money in the economy without printing more banknotes by issuing coins backed by government bonds. If this is done, Thaksin Shinawatra believes that the country's economy will certainly show impressive growth.

Bitcoin holding company MicroStrategy enters the Nasdaq 100 index

Today, previously reported news was confirmed that business intelligence giant MicroStrategy co-founded by Michael Saylor, which has shown impressive growth in the past four years, has now been included in the Nasdaq 100 ETF, which consists of mostly stocks. Profitable non-financial companies whose shares are traded on the Nasdaq Stock Market.

It also includes technology giants such as Tesla (NASDAQ:), Apple (NASDAQ:), Meta (NASDAQ:), Amazon (NASDAQ:), Microsoft (NASDAQ:).

The increase in MicroStrategy's market capitalization (the main condition for adding the company to the Nasdaq) has led to a decline in its Bitcoin strategy since 2020, when the company began its regular bets on BTC. As of December 2024, Saylor owns 423,650 Bitcoin worth approximately $41.5 billion.

Over the past two years, MicroStrategy has issued convertible senior notes to raise billions of US dollars for major new Bitcoin acquisitions.
