A Florida woman She was arrested Sunday after stabbing her boyfriend's dog multiple times, and later told authorities she “made a mistake,” according to law enforcement officials.
The Hernando County Sheriff's Office said 23-year-old Megan Lynn Mileskiewicz was arrested and charged with cruelty to animals and resisting arrest.
At approximately 10:45 a.m. Sunday, deputies responded to a 911 call in which a witness reported that a woman was repeatedly stabbing her boyfriend's dog inside the home, the sheriff's office said.
When deputies arrived at the home in Spring Hill, Mileskiewicz was not inside, but witnesses said she had escaped out the back door of the home.

After a short search, deputies found Mileskiewicz hiding behind a tool shed in the backyard, face down and surrounded by bushes.
Deputies reportedly ordered The suspect crawled out of the bush, though she refused and was eventually pulled out of the hiding place and taken into custody.
The 2-year-old dog suffered two lacerations, between 2 and 3 inches long, near his buttocks, the sheriff's office said.

Deputies noted that none of the injuries were life-threatening, but the wounds were still bleeding.
A witness reportedly told deputies that Meliskiewicz, without warning, became angry at the dog and armed herself with a pocket knife before trying to stab the dog.

After witnessing Meliskiewicz repeatedly stab the dog, the witness called 911.
The Sheriff's Office also said Mileskiewicz was read her Miranda rights before telling investigators the dog was “bothering” her. She also allegedly told investigators she got upset and “made a mistake.”

Court records show Mileskiewicz was arrested for Animal cruelty Resisting arrest without violence. She was transported to the Hernando County Detention Center, and her bail was set at $3,500.
