A group of feral pigs were terrorizing a city Irving, TexasThis frustrates residents as the invasive animals destroy their properties.
As many as 10 pigs tore up yards and dug up the leftover trash for garbage collectors, According to WFAA.
Locals were left frustrated after they repaired their yards dug up by pigs, only for the animals to return to wreak havoc once again.
“A couple of weeks ago, I started seeing some holes in the ground,” homeowner Eric Mendez told WFAA, noting that he installed a camera in a tree to catch the culprit.

“To my surprise, there was a pig on camera,” he said.
But there was more than one pig rummaging through the property. There were up to 10, and some were very large.
Others reported the destruction of hogs as well, including Mendez's neighbor, whose landscape was dug up, and Barbara Bush Middle School.
Garbage was also scattered in many properties.
The city of Irving said it is aware of the problem and has hired A.J Wildlife contractor To address the situation. Officials said they believe the hogs were coming from a wooded area near Grapevine Creek.
Feral hogs cause an estimated $400 million in damage annually in Texas, according to Texas A&M AgriLife Extension, while national costs are estimated at $1.5 billion annually.

Farmers and ranchers who often suffer a lot of hog destruction can hunt or hire someone to hunt the animals without a license on private land, with no limits on the number of animals that can be killed. But a standard hunting license is needed to hunt them on public lands, WFAA reported.
Homeowners in Irving initially came up with the idea of shooting and killing hogs, but then realized they shouldn't be shooting animals in a suburban neighborhood.
“My first thought was, 'I can shoot them,'” Mendez said. “But I say, yeah, I'm in a neighborhood. I can't go out there and start blowing up.”
While looking for alternatives, Mendez came up with the idea of using slingshots and clapping on two pieces of wood to scare away the pigs.

“I was thinking, 'Can I do anything here?' He said.
Pigs are known to attack pets and humans if they feel threatened. They also reproduce at a rapid rate, as one sow can give birth to up to two litters Six to eight pigs every year.
“I didn't expect something this big to start crawling out of the creek,” Mendez said.
“It's a problem,” he added.
