CBS, the BBC's news partner, reported that there were fears of multiple casualties in New Orleans after a car plowed into a crowd of people on the famous Bourbon Street.
A New Orleans Police spokesman said, “Initial reports show that a car may have hit a group of people. The injuries are unknown, but there are reports of deaths.”
A CBS reporter saw several people on the ground with injuries.
Eyewitnesses said that the car ran into a crowd of people, then the driver began firing a weapon, prompting the police to return fire. The police did not confirm this report.
