Liverpool are looking to sign both a right-back and a left-back in the coming months, sources said Caught out.
The Reds face the worrying situation of losing Trent Alexander-Arnold on a free transfer, with the England international approaching the end of his contract at Anfield.
As previously reported, he is targeting Liverpool Jeremy Frimpong, right-back of Bayer Leverkusen To replace Alexander-Arnold, with some talks already taking place.
Liverpool reaches a major milestone in the decade!
Frimpong excelled at Leverkusen as one of the best attacking full-backs in the game, so he would seem ideal to replace Alexander-Arnold if he leaves.
However, Liverpool are also looking at a left-back, even if, on the face of it, it does not appear to be an emergency for the club.
Liverpool are eyeing transfers for Jeremy Frimpong and Milos Kerkez
Liverpool want Frimpong on the right side, while they are also keen on Bournemouth left-back Milos Kerkes, with the talented Hungarian young international looking ideal to come in as a long-term successor to the aging Andrew Robertson.
Kirkese has impressed at Bournemouth and it certainly looks like he will get a big move for himself very soon Manchester United are also among his admirers.
Frimpong and Kirkese are fantastic full-backs who could improve Liverpool's squad significantly, giving them two young talents to build on in the long term.
However, one imagines the priority will still be to retain Alexander-Arnold if possible, as the 26-year-old remains a very important player for Arne Slott's side.
Alexander-Arnold is world-class and would certainly have plenty of top clubs interested in him, so it is not clear whether a talent like Frimpong would suitably replace him.
It has been a pleasure to watch the Dutchman at Leverkusen, but there is no guarantee that he will be able to take that level with him to the Premier League.
