College football fans who tuned into the game's broadcast on ESPN were upset by the heavy spotlight on Colorado, and made their voices heard on social media.

BYU offensive lineman Connor Bay even asked the broadcasters to talk more about the team, according to broadcaster Dave Pasch.

“He came out there (production meeting) yesterday and said to us, 'Talk about BYU a little bit, right?' Well, we're talking about Connor Bey, and we're talking about BYU now,” Bash said in the fourth quarter with the Cougars leading 33-7, via Horrible ad. “I'm sure the fans in Provo would love for us to talk about BYU all night long.”

BYU “gave us a lot to talk about,” Bash's broadcast partner, Dusty Dvoracek, added.

Sanders said it was “difficult” to know that some of the players he has coached over the past two or three years would be leaving his team for the next part of their journeys.

BYU finished the season 11-2, producing its third 10-win season in the past five years. They have not had a run like this since the mid-2000s when they won at least 10 games from 2006-09 and then again in 2011.

Kalani Sitake took the team from a meager five wins in its first season in the Big 12 Conference last year to 11 wins and a bowl appearance.
