Leonard Ellerbe confirmed today on X that the fight between Gervonta Davis and Lamont Roach is still on for March 1 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.
Tank Davis (30-0, 28 KO) stirred up some drama this week when he posted this message on Instagram on December 23: “Fighting is f***ing cancelled.” Davis later deleted the message. That same day, Roach (25-1-1, 10 KOs) posted a video of himself working out and preparing for the fight.
Manufactured drama?
Some fans think Tank is trying to create Fake drama To generate interest in his mismatch with Roach as he is seen as one of his many picks during his 11-year professional career.
The fight has already been moved once from December 14 to March 1, and is seen as a product no one wants. It wouldn't be a shock if Tank continues to post cancellations to get fans excited about this match.
See you in New York! https://t.co/g8XNjioiML

It is not clear if former Mayweather Promotions CEO Ellerbe is still working with Tank Davis or if he is one of the accusers.
Gervonta or his team failed to consider how fans would react when they chose lightweight Roach as his opponent.
