Douglas Luiz is among the names on Manchester City's target list for the midfielder.

City are exploring their options in the market for a new No. 6, and former Aston Villa midfielder Luiz, who has made just 16 appearances for Juventus this season, is one of the numbers they are looking at.

Interest from the Premier League champions could intensify if Juventus, who only signed the 26-year-old in the summer, are willing to agree a consecutive six-month loan deal with no conditions for a permanent transfer.

City are not guaranteed to make an addition in this position in this window but it is a possibility if the deal suits them.

Sky Sports News It has already been reported that they will not pursue Real Sociedad midfielder Martin Zobimendi, who is close to moving to Arsenal in the summer, nor Newcastle's Bruno Guimaraes.

Luiz is expected to leave Juventus in some form this month and the former Aston Villa star wants to return to the Premier League.

He moved to Juventus just last summer in a £21m deal that saw winger Samuel Iling Jr and midfielder Enzo Barrenechea go the other way, with both players going out on loan. The Brazilian midfielder signed a five-year contract with Juventus.

Luiz scored nine goals in 35 Premier League matches last season as Unai Emery's team qualified for the Champions League in fourth place.

Any potential move to City would be a return to the Etihad Stadium for Luiz, who was at City between 2017 and 2019 without making a single appearance.
