Dick Van Dyke I felt love at first sight with the wife Arlene SilverAlthough she had never seen one of his most famous roles before.

He continued: “I sat down (and) introduced myself. I was completely in love at first sight. I found out she was a makeup artist and said, “You can come to my show.” …She didn’t know who I was.”
Silver (53 years old) joined Van Dyke Ted Danson And the wife Mary SteenburgenPodcast, to correct the famous actor's side of the story.
“That's not true,” Silver said sarcastically. “Of course I knew who he was; It's Dick Van Dyke! I said I had never seen anything he did.

“I did a screen test, and I went out in front of the banker’s house and sang a little song,” Van Dyke recalls. “I think what sold it was at the end of the song, I went and pretended to pee in the bush – it got old Walt (Disney). I think that gave me the part.”
Van Dyke had previously claimed that he offered to play the banker for free despite the reluctance of the studio executive at Disney.
