Devin Haney posted a cryptic message on social media tonight, saying he expects to be shunned in 2025.

He didn't say who he would avoid, but he might be talking about Ryan Garcia because his promoter, Oscar De La Hoya, said a bout with Devin won't happen in his first fight after his one-year ban expires in April.

Devin and his father Bill Haney want a rematch with Kingery to avenge their loss last April. It is also one of the highest-paying fights for Haney (31-0, 15 KO) in 2025. However, if he loses the rematch with Garcia, his career will be over. He will regret fighting that battle for the rest of his life.

Dave must defeat Garcia to show the fans that his 12 round majority decision loss to Garcia on April 20 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn was just a bad night. Hani fell to the ground three times in that fight and three additional times that the referee did not count.

Andrade criticizes Hani

“At first, I thought about Devin Haney for a long time because I thought he was going to develop into a Sugar Ray Leonard-style guy, but it hasn't been going that way lately,” Demetrius Andrade said. Mill City Boxing He initially believed that Devin Haney would be the man to defeat Gervonta Davis.

“I don't know if (Hani) is very satisfied or not. He's still young because they make some good money, and then they stop working. I'm not saying he doesn't work hard. I thought he was going to be the guy to beat Tank in the future. He won a lot Of them guys, honestly.

“I think he has the skills to beat everyone, except Ryan Garcia. No matter what little substance he took, he didn't show any dominance skills against Ryan, and Ryan looked ridiculous at times. He was tired,” Andrade said.

If Andrade seriously believes Haney will develop into the next Sugar Ray Leonard, then he wasn't there when he was fighting. Haney doesn't fight anything like Leonard did. Even the earlier version of Sugar Ray in 1997 had higher levels of Devin's talent.

“There were so many rounds in that fight where Devin should have pushed and pushed, but he didn't,” Andrade said. “He let it go on, and he was throwing them potions of Caleb. It wasn't doing anything, and Ryan was just popping pop. That was tough,” Andrade said of Haney's loss to Garcia.

Haney was trying to neutralize Ryan's left hook by over-grabbing it, but he kept nailing it while trying to catch it. He got away with fighting this way in both his fights against George Kambosos Jr. and his fight against Vasiliy Lomachenkip. This tactic did not work against Garcia.
