Devin Haney will fight on BLK Prime on March 25. The streaming service posted a tweet telling its followers that Haney (31-0, 15 KOs) will fight on BLK Prime next. This indicates that it will be a PPV.

Oh how the mighty have fallen! Where is Turki Al-Sheikh to help this young star in this low period? It really digs deep.

Haney's game is not a pay-per-draw system and will have to face someone prominent to bring in a respectable number of buy-ins. He's coming off an 11-month layoff, and it would be risky for him to fight a tough contender or a world champion at 140 or 147 years old.

This is a move that will reinforce the belief that Haney's career is over and he is just playing by his strings. Obviously, he will still try to get a rematch with Ryan Garcia, but if he fails, he could end up fading into obscurity.

BLK Prime is back

Boxing fans on social media mocked the news of Hani’s fight on BLK Prime, considering it a step back from his fights on DAZN and ESPN. Not many people fighting on BLK Prime are likely to see it unless the event is attracting a lot of interest.

It's a big drop for Haney, who lost to Ryan Garcia by 12-round majority decision last year on April 20, and hasn't fought since. Devin's stock fell dramatically from that defeat and his subsequent decision to sue Ryan for battery, fraud, and breach of contract.

It is unclear if this will be a long-term situation for Haney or just a one-off fight on BLK Prime. If he loses the fight, he'd better stay because his chances of fighting on a major grid will be slim. Ryan Garcia won't need a rematch with Haney, 26, if he loses to a can of tomatoes.

It will be interesting to see if Devin's father, Bill Haney, is behind his decision to fight on BLK Prime.

Terence Crawford fought David Avanesyan on BLK Prime on December 10, 2022. The fight was rumored to have performed poorly on PPV, but this was the only time Crawford fought on that network.

Two years ago, former four-division world champion Adrien Broner was supposed to face Ivan Redkach on BLK Prime, but the bout was canceled and never took place. This is another fight that probably could have produced poor PPV numbers.
