Devin Haney revealed today that the reason for his travel to London for his ring was to meet Turki Al-Sheikh in order to… “Talk about what's next.”

Fans have wondered why Haney, 26, was doing a circuit workout in London when he doesn't have any fights scheduled and is coming off a humiliating loss to Ryan Garcia. It didn't make sense yet. Devin came to meet Turk, hoping to fight over one of his cards, and most likely Big money.

Turkish talks

The recently undefeated Haney (31-0, 15 KO) is looking forward to fighting on one of Turki's Riyadh season cards. However, Al-Sheikh tends to have competitive fights for his career, and that could be a bad thing for Hani as he has shown weakness in the chin area.

If Haney is knocked out of the tournament by someone Turk picks for him, it will take a lot of attention from a rematch with Ryan Garcia. The fight could still happen, but it would be seen as a joke. Haney would be ready for the scrapyard, viewed as a hype job, and he was never as good as naive fans thought.

His best wins were against George Kambosos, Regis Prograis, and Vasiliy Lomachenko. As everyone knows, Haney's win over Lomachenko was highly controversial in a fight he appeared to lose, but he earned a decisive 12-round victory in Las Vegas. Kambosos was just a flawed, low-level player and a one-hit wonder who built his career by defeating a disoriented and rusty Teofimo Lopez.

Payday chase

“I want to fight everyone. You all know I'm not a fan of chemistry fights. I want to make the biggest fights happen. I want to fight the best fighter in the world. That's one of the reasons I'm here. I'm here to meet with His Excellency Turki Al Sheikh to talk about what's next. Media Today at his training in London, explaining why he traveled to the UK to show off.

“Turk made an offer to Teo for a lot more money than what he was offering. He turned it down for whatever reason, and that's what stopped the fight. This is a fight that can still be fought. The only thing I'm focused on is that I want to fight on equal terms with everyone.

“I want to be a spokesperson for clean boxing because I was one of the people who actually tried it. I experienced cheating and what it means to fight someone on PEDs,” Haney said as he talked about his fight with Ryan Garcia. “I want to clean up the sport of boxing. So that's my focus on the guy now.
