Chelsea are said to be the team most likely to pounce on Kobe Maino if he ends up sealing a transfer away from Manchester United.
The talented young England international was a revelation for the Red Devils last season when he broke into the first team under former coach Erik Ten Hag, and looks set to… He will certainly be an important part of the club's future.
However, Chelsea seem to be keeping an eye on things now Maino's situation during the 19-year-old's contract talks They are said to have reached a dead end, according to a report by Daily Mail.
Conversations begin! The Manchester United star is close to joining the Euro giants
This story has come out of the blue, as Maino appears to have settled in at United after his impressive start at Old Trafford, but it appears all may not be quite so well behind the scenes.
Manchester United certainly cannot lose Kobe Maino to Chelsea
United will certainly be desperate not to lose a talented home-grown player like Maino to rivals Chelsea, so perhaps this link is being positioned to put pressure on the club to settle his new deal.
It will be interesting to see how this saga develops, but Chelsea fans will likely be very excited, as Maino would be another top young talent they could add to their roster.
The West London outfit have done well of late to snap up some of the best prospects in world football, and Enzo Maresca has done a fantastic job with these players this season.
It is not clear that Chelsea need Maino at the moment, as they already have a clear first-choice midfield partnership in the form of Enzo Fernandes and Moises Caicedo, while Romeo Lavia is a very good backup option.
However, an opportunity like Mainoo would undoubtedly be tempting, so it looks like it could be one to keep an eye on in the near future if contract talks don't progress.
