David Moyes has been re-appointed as Everton manager, on a two-and-a-half year contract.
Everton, which currently ranks 16th in the English Premier League, finds itself embroiled in the relegation battle after only three wins from 19 matches this season.
The former West Ham boss will take over from Sean Dyche, who was sacked following the Friedkin Group takeover.
Moyes said in a statement: “I enjoyed 11 wonderful and successful years at Everton and did not hesitate when I was given the opportunity to join this great club.”
He added: “Now we need Goodison and all the people of Everton to play their part in supporting the players in this important season so that we can move to our wonderful new stadium as a Premier League team.”
Moyes previously coached Everton from 2002 to 2013, and led the club to some of its best moments in the Premier League.

After a successful spell at Preston, Moyes took charge of Everton in March 2002, inheriting a team in danger of relegation, similar to the one he now plays for.
He settled things down quickly, leading them to several top-eight finishes in the Premier League.
During his time at Goodison Park, Moyes led Everton to the FA Cup Final in 2009 and a fourth-place finish in the 2004-05 season, qualifying them for the Champions League.
He also played a crucial role in the development of young talent, giving Wayne Rooney his professional debut and signing key players such as Tim Cahill and Marouane Fellaini.
Moyes' coaching career since his departure from Everton has witnessed a mixture of successes and challenges.
He succeeded Sir Alex Ferguson at Manchester United but struggled to replicate his predecessor's success, being sacked after less than a year in charge.
Subsequent managerial roles at Real Sociedad, Sunderland and West Ham have yielded mixed results.
He has enjoyed notable success with West Ham, guiding them to two top-seven finishes and their first major trophy in 43 years by winning the European Conference League in 2023.
