Andy Parra, the agent of Barcelona star Dani Olmo, has dealt a heavy blow to Arsenal's hopes of signing the midfielder during the January transfer window.
Arsenal have been linked with a move for Olmo In recent weeks as the Gunners look to pounce on their unusual situation at Barcelona – Manchester United have also shown interest in the player.
The Spanish star arrived at the Catalan club during the summer as part of a deal A deal worth 60 million euros With RB Leipzig having wowed the world en route to winning Euro 2024 with Spain over the summer, however, Barcelona needed innovative ways to register the player in La Liga.
Heading into January, Olmo will not be able to play for Barcelona throughout the second half of the season as they do not have the funds to sign the midfielder.
Two appeals have been rejected by the La Liga giants Court of First Instance (District Court) over the past few weeks. This means Olmo could leave Barcelona in January as of now, although the Catalan side may have found a way to sign the 26-year-old.

In addition, Olmo's agent stated that the player hopes to stay at Barcelona, despite his long-distance links with the Spanish club.

“We are not considering any other option,” the agent said. “Dani wants to play for Barcelona.”
Arsenal's chances of signing the Euro 2024 winner were slim, but had they chosen the Spanish star, it would have been a major coup for Mikel Arteta ahead of the second half of the 2024/25 season.
