Curtis Jones said Eden Hazard was a better player than his Liverpool team-mate Mohamed Salah.
Comparisons are often made between Hazard and Salah due to their similar, diminutive stature and the overall brilliance the pair have brought to the Premier League.
While Jones grew up watching Hazard and remains a huge fan, he says he would rather have Salah by his side.
“I know he (Hazard) gets compared to Mo all the time. I've been in it with Mo,” the Liverpool player told TNT Sports ahead of tomorrow night's Champions League clash with Lille at Anfield.
“As a player I have seen him since I was a child, I loved the game, I used to study it and I wanted to be like the player. I feel that Hazard was the one. Every match I watched with him I was impressed… This is football.”
Jones added: “As a footballer, is he better than Mo? In my opinion yes. But who would you rather have in your team? You would say Mo because he scores goals and makes assists for you.”
Jones' ruling caused a stir on social media, prompting Jones to reiterate his view on who he would prefer to play alongside.
