Can United get back on track against the team ranked 18th in the English Premier League table?

Not according to Chris Sutton.

“I usually get a fair bit of reaction on social media when I predict a Manchester United defeat, but it's been very quiet since I said they would lose to Bournemouth on Sunday,” the former Celtic and Blackburn striker wrote in his predictions column. BBC Sport.

He continued: “I did not think the result would be 3-0 again, but the reason I left with the Cherries team is because they won at Old Trafford last season, and since then, they have improved at the moment.” United have gone backwards. So, was this really a surprise?

“Moving to this game, the same thinking applies. Why would anyone look at Ruben Amorim's side and back them to beat Wolves? I can't think of any compelling reason why anything would be different here.

“I feel sorry for Amorim that he arrived with such excitement about his appointment, but after only a few weeks, he must be keenly aware of the scale of the task he faces to turn things around.

“United have wasted a fortune building this team and, as Amorim says, he is still trying to find his best squad. This is a trial period for him but he has to deal with issues like Marcus Rashford's future as well. He has a lot to sort out.

“It's hard to know what Wolves will be like as well. One of the positives of their win over Leicester in Vitor Pereira's first game was keeping a clean sheet but you have to remember that the Foxes are a very average team.

“So, as poor as United are, I wouldn't pick Wolves to win this one either. Instead, I think this game will be a tight match and it has a draw written all over it.”
