Chelsea are reportedly interested in signing French midfielder Youssef Fofana from AC Milan.
Fofana has been a key player for Milan since joining them for a fee of around €20m last summer. His performances caught the attention of the Blues. according to TransfersChelsea have set their sights on the French midfielder and are willing to pay €60m (£50m) to complete the deal.
It would not be a surprise if Milan were willing to let the player leave if Chelsea made a formal offer. They will get to triple their investment in the Frenchman and will be able to exchange him for the money on offer as well.
Fofana will add defensive cover, physicality and leadership to Chelsea's midfield. The Blues have put together a quality team and are looking to improve further. Moises Caicedo has not been at his best since joining the club from Brighton and signing another defensive midfielder would be a wise decision.
The 25-year-old Milan midfielder could be the perfect replacement for Caicedo at times. He is able to operate as a central midfielder as well as a right midfielder as well.
Fofana has the physical ability and technical attributes to perform well in the Premier League, and he could be an asset for Chelsea. It was Associated with Manchester United Before moving to Italy, however The Milan hierarchy managed to win the race for his signature.

It will be interesting to see if the Blues are able to get the deal over the line. €60 million is a lot of money for a player and Milan may be tempted to cash in on him. It will be interesting to see if Chelsea make their offer in January.
They have started the season well and are second in the league table. Signing quality players midway through the season could help them mount a serious challenge for the league title.
