Jessica Kamara believes she can upset WBC lightweight world champion Caroline Dubois when they fight live on Saturday. Sky Sports.

Kamara is no stranger to emerging surprises. It handed former world champion Hyun Mi Choi his first defeat on points over 10 rounds in Korea last year.

“I like to get into big fights and I like the challenge,” Kamara said.

The Canadian may have suffered four defeats during her 18-fight professional career, but Choi isn't the only big-name boxer to have beaten her. Kamara previously defeated American star Heather Hardy as well.

“I think I'm a special person,” Kamara said. “I've done difficult things in my career and I'm proud of that. I think I'll come out on top on Saturday.”

But Dubois immediately returned fire. She was not impressed by Kamara's win over Choi.

“Not at all. Choi, I think a lot of girls were shooting at her for a reason,” the Londoner declared.

She told Kamara directly: “Credit to you but I am not Choi, I would have stopped Choi, I would have fired her and I intend to do the same against you on Saturday.

“It won't be a challenge, it will be a mountain to overcome.

“I'm here, I'm coming, I weigh 135 pounds and this is my division.”

“I'm the real deal”

Also on Saturday's bill in Sheffield, Callum Simpson will defend his British and Commonwealth super-middleweight titles against dangerous challenger Steed Woodall.

Callum Simpson has spoken about the tragic loss of his 19-year-old sister, who died while he was on holiday just weeks after winning his final fight at Oakwell.

Simpson won his belts on a memorable night at Oakwell Stadium in his hometown of Barnsley when he beat Zac Cheeley.

Despite this, Woodall has knocked off the talented Leron Richards impressively and will be a threat on Saturday when they face off at Canon Medical Arena in Sheffield.

However, the hero promises to display “Yorkshire courage.”

“Every battle is a must-win battle,” Simpson said. “In every fight we try to level up.

“I wanted to defend my British and Commonwealth titles and Stead was there in the toughest fight and that's what I wanted.

“I'm looking forward to proving that I'm the real deal.”
