Canelo Alvarez vs. Terence Crawford negotiates in September, Mexican Independence Day, for Alvarez's three super middleweight titles at 168, with no rehydration clause.
If the Canelo-Crawford fight is made, it could be undisputed if Canelo (62-2-2, 39 KOs) faces IBF champion William Skull on Cinco de Mayo weekend in May. Canelo will be the favorite against Skull to regain the IBF title.
Canelo's easy prey?
Crawford (41-0, 31 KOs) is walking around in the 70s, so it shouldn't be a big deal for him to move up to 168 to challenge Canelo. The main problem Crawford will face is trying to win without getting into a war with Canelo. If Terrence were to just face Canelo, following Mayweather's blueprint, as his trainer, Brian “Bomak” McIntyre, said he would, it wouldn't have worked out as a decision.
Canelo hits much harder than Crawford, even if he eats more punches, the judges will focus on the bigger hits. This is how Canelo beat Erislandy Lara, who is much bigger and stronger than Crawford, but didn't have enough power in his punches to win the decision.
We don't know Crawford's real rationale for wanting to fight Canelo. He says it's about “legacy,” but he also mentions money and doesn't want to move up to 168 to get adjusted in a weight class. This is a fear on Crawford's part. He's just revealing that it's all about money for him. I feel like it's just a matter of fortune for him because if he really believes, he'll move up in weight to super middleweight to show that he can compete in that division by beating one or two of the top dogs.
The pension fund battle
Since he doesn't, it makes it clear that Crawford just wants a retirement day against Canelo. This is good. You blame the crowds. If Turk is willing to give Crawford support, that's on him, but many fans then feel stupid and robbed because they wasted their money on a Jermell Charlo 2.0 type of mismatch. Crawford isn't as big or strong as Jermell. He's definitely not as young as Jermell was when he fought Canelo, Terrence would be 38 bWhile Canelo fights in September.
So, it doesn't matter if he loses. It's all gravy for him for the rest of his life from the unearned gains Crawford took in a losing effort against Canelo. He could spend the rest of his life eating caviar and drinking from a glass with it Pinky in the airHe speaks with a fake British accent influenced by the upper class of American society, the super-rich.
Keyshawn Crawford's Crusade
“They count Terence out,” Keshawn Davis said. Mill City Boxing On what he doesn't agree with is fans' perception of his gym mate and close friend, Terence Crawford, not getting a chance against Canelo Alvarez in September.
“How big is Canelo compared to Terrence, and they'll say he doesn't have a chance because of his size. You can hit him and keep hitting him,” Keshawn said when asked if Crawford could knockout Canelo or if he would try to fight his way to a decision win. .
“Anybody can get KO'd there. I wouldn't rule him out for KO'ing Canelo, but boxing him would definitely give him the win. Me, put me on that card in the main spot. I don't care, put me on that card,” Davis said. “I will be a world champion (Kishon hopes).”
Keyshawn shouldn't let his friendship with Crawford blind him from seeing the battle for what it is. He's not knocking Canelo out. He would be too busy running away from him after getting a taste of his power earlier. Crawford nearly lost his last fight in his 154-year-old debut against Israel Madrimov on August 3rd of last year. His strength was not raised from 147, and his face was battered by the end of the fight. Madrimov spoiled him, and was lucky to get the decision because the bigger, cleaner, more effective punches were landed by the champion.
Begging for a spot
“Turkish (Al-Sheikh), put me on the card,” Keshawn said, begging Turk to participate in the Canelo vs. Crawford match. “You know who I would love to fight. I would love to fight Isaac Cruz. I don't know why. I just feel like me, and he's going to do great. I just feel like it's going to be an action-packed fight. I'd love to fight Rayo too (Jose Valenzuela). I feel like those two The two men always come to fight.
It's too late for Keyshawn to fight Isaac Cruz because he's already fighting Ryan Garcia next. He's not going to fight Keyshawn and wrestle on the ground.
“I would love to fight these two guys, both of whom are 140 years old,” Keshawn said. “We don’t have to fight for the belt.” “We can just fight. Let's just fight, and they both have losses. So, it's not like they're dodging or running so as not to lose their OS. I'm sure not dodging any loss O (Note: Keyshawn refuses to fight Andy Cruz, who Defeat him four times.) I just want to fight.
“Win, lose or draw, I'm making millions of dollars. I don't care. I would love to fight these two guys for sure. I would love to fight these guys. Just an action-packed fight. We both don't give up and try to control the center of the ring,” Keshawn said when asked how the fight would go. Between him and the 5'4″ Isaac Cruz: “We're both trying to get ahead.”
“I'm going to keep throwing them. I'm not saying I'm going to fight this guy in the middle of the ring, bro. You've seen me fight Miguel Madueno (using a lot of grappling, lifting Madueno, using a lot of pushing and rabbit punching) on my back foot the whole fight. In some rounds, I was “I'm moving forward, and in some rounds (most of them), I'm moving forward and he's going backwards,” Davis said. “It would be great for the sport of boxing.”
Keyshawn needs to put a sock in it. Isaac Cruz has bigger fish to fry, as he negotiated a big-money fight against superstar Ryan Garcia on Turki Al-Sheikh's card in May in Times Square in Manhattan, New York. Cruz will waste no time facing Keshawn Davis, he is fighting for a change, and will likely struggle all night in an ugly, mistake-filled fight.
If Keyhaun is looking for a fight, he needs to find some courage and take on his four-time conqueror Andy Cruz to try and avenge at least one of his losses to the talented Cuban. I don't think Keshawn will do it, but he has to show he's not fake.
No contracts have been signed yet, but boxing's top star, Canelo Alvarez, and Terence Crawford are preparing to meet on the Mexican Independence Day weekend in September if all is said and done. As Crawford has said all along, it will be priced at £168 without a rehydration clause. pic.twitter.com/Gw0DoA21uH
